About
I was born in 1966 in Edessa (Greece) and graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 1990. In 1999, I completed the medical specialty of hematology and my PhD studies at the Democritus University of Thrace (Alexandrooupolis, Greece). In 1997, I was trained in the fields of Molecular Biology and Flow Cytometry at the University of Umea (Sweden). I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Immunology Department of University of Lund (Sweden, 1999-2000), and as a consultant in Papageorgiou General Hospital of Thessaloniki (2000-2007). I was also trained in the fields of cytogenetics and molecular cytogenetics as a visitor scientist, at the Institute Gustave-Roussy (Paris, 2004). From 2007 I am a member of the Academic society of the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Thessaly – Larissa, Greece (as Assistant Professor 2007-2013, as Associate Professor 2013-2017, as Professor of Medical Immunology 2018 until now). My research mainly focuses on the study of primary antibody immunodeficiencies, hereditary angioedema and inflammation.
